About Franco

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, speaking Spanish as my first language. I attended bilingual schools my whole life, and have lived in Portland, OR for four years, so my English has gotten pretty good through the years. I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan as an English as a Second Language Teacher, and I've also obtained a Certificate from AALB as a Medical Interpreter. I've been jumping between English and Spanish my whole life, and with enough practice and dedication, I can help you achieve the level of Spanish you want to get to. I will guide you with patience, but I will also challenge you to obtain your goals.

About the lesson

Trust me, I understand how complicated it is to learn a new language and constantly interpret every word in your head when you're conversing. My lesson plans will be tailored to your level and your needs. We'll start at the most basic point, setting objectives that will challenge you and take you where you want to be.

Here's an example of our first lesson as a beginner (60 minutes):

Introduction to Spanish for Beginners
Objective:

Students will learn basic greetings, introductions, and common expressions in Spanish.

Materials:
Flashcards, handout, and a simple dialogue script.

Activities:

1. Warm-up (10 minutes)
- Introduction: Greet and introduce yourself in Spanish, then translate.
- Activity: Students share their names and any Spanish they know.

2. Simple Vocabulary Introduction (15 minutes)
- Teach basic greetings, introductions, and common expressions.
Practice pronunciation with repetition.

3. Interactive Practice (20 minutes)
- Use a simple dialogue script for practice.
- Feedback: Correct and guide you as we practice.

4. Review and Wrap-up (15 minutes)
- Review: Go over key phrases.
- Answer any questions.

Homework: Write a short paragraph introducing yourself and sharing what are your favorite hobbies.

If you are an intermediate student, we will have a simple assessment to identify your level and create an adequate lesson plan for you.
