About Taylor
I’m a recent graduate from the University of Glasgow with a passion for physics and maths that developed throughout high school, leading me to achieve the dux award for my year.
Although I have no formal tutoring experience, I’ve always loved helping my classmates throughout school and university.
I’m truly looking forward to finding new ways to explore topics that will help students experience their ‘light-bulb’ moment - there is no better feeling!

My Approach to Teaching:
At the core of my teaching is the belief that effective learning requires more than just memorizing facts—it involves first grasping the underlying concepts. I believe this approach makes learning more engaging for students while also building critical thinking skills that are useful in all areas of life, both academic and beyond. This ultimately improves one’s exam performance, as it enhances knowledge retention and lays a solid (and thus confidence-inspiring) foundation upon which a student can practice exam specific techniques and skills.

- First introduce a topic using an intuitive approach, appropriate to the level being taught at to. This lets a student 'feel out' a given concept.
- Giving the student different ways of viewing a topic if deemed necessary, allow them to pick out the approach that makes most sense to them.
- Introduce basic example to discuss and 'ground' the students understanding. Most importantly this gives them time to really consolidate their understanding.
- Finally we would look at a series of increasingly difficult exam questions from a given topic and the specific methods and techniques for approaching these problems. Always being mindful to highlight how the main concept relates to that specific question.
