About Jonas
With over 5 years of experience teaching chess, I’ve had the pleasure of working with 300–350 students from various backgrounds and skill levels. From complete beginners to advanced competitors, I guide each learner with strategies that suit their pace, interests, and goals. My lessons are always clear, structured, and encouraging—designed to help students grow with confidence. My tutoring style is centred around adaptability, communication, and critical thinking. I make sure students understand the why behind each move, not just the how. We explore opening principles, endgame techniques, and positional play using real-game scenarios and interactive analysis. I also incorporate puzzles and timed drills to keep sessions dynamic and results-focused. What sets my teaching apart is my ability to make chess feel both challenging and enjoyable. I build strong foundations, nurture creative problem-solving, and encourage independent thinking. Whether you're preparing for tournaments or just playing for fun, I’m here to support your journey on the board.

I approach teaching chess with a flexible mindset that meets each student where they are. Whether you're new to the board or refining advanced tactics, I adapt lessons to your learning pace and goals. This flexibility ensures you stay engaged and comfortable while gradually mastering essential skills like opening principles, tactical patterns, and strategic planning. Clear communication is central to every session. I break down complex moves into understandable steps and use relatable analogies to simplify decision-making. Alongside this, I encourage creativity—helping students see beyond set patterns and explore new ways of thinking through problems on and off the board. Motivation and accountability are built into my teaching style. I set achievable targets and provide regular feedback to keep progress steady and rewarding. Outside of chess, I also teach related subjects such as logic, problem-solving, and concentration skills, creating a well-rounded and mentally active learning experience.
