About Raffi
I have been giving guitar lessons for the past 3 years, and have been playing for around 9 years. I went to a music academy from the age of 12 - 15, and have been in several bands and musical projects since then. I have done both online and in-person lessons with students from all around the UK. I primarily work with individuals who are just starting out to give them the boost of confidence they need to find joy in playing and practicing their instrument on their own and with others. When I was starting out, I was lucky enough to be taught songs from bands I loved at the time as well as composition and improvisational techniques. This gave me the confidence boost and the motivation I needed in order to carry on practicing my instrument in the vital initial stages, where a lot of beginners can lose interest and become disheartened.

My teaching method is tailored to each individual student and what you'd personally like to learn. We usually begin by learning simple songs via tablature reading as well as "Ear Training" techniques. I believe Ear training is one of the most valuable musical tools for anyone learning to play any instrument, as being able to "play what you hear" can greatly improve confidence in one's musicality. I also go through the theory and musical ideas that the songs are built on, which will then be the building blocks for learning more songs and also composing your own in future lessons with me! My primary aims are to guide the student in finding their own unique approach to playing the guitar, and to cultivate a desire for the student to continue practicing on their own.
