About Aodhan
I've been playing guitar professionally for over 15 years and have been teaching almost as long. Since moving to NYC from Ireland over a decade ago, I've toured the US and Canada multiple times, both with my own bands and as a side musician. I've taught privately, as part of various collectives and as a visiting teacher at secondary level/ high schools.

I generally begin by getting an idea of the student's current level and objectives, then we devise an approximate plan for moving forward.
For beginners I'll normally find a few pieces/ songs we can begin work on, while reserving a portion of the lesson for more general but complimentary guitar technique and theory.
I've taught most levels, from beginners to degree level. I specialize in blues, fingerstyle and folk guitar, as well as rock and metal techniques and fundamentals. I can give a sound grounding in jazz guitar playing and jazz theory and have taught classical guitar from beginner to intermediate level.
