About the lesson
My Lessons:
I will do three main things during each lesson with my students, in the provided order.
1) Answer any questions they have. This may include explaining material that they do not understand and helping them work through specific problems.
2) In preparation for the AP Exam, provide practice tests and questions (which can also be found online from the College Board).
3) Allow them to work through homework on their own and answer any questions they have on it.
My Approach:
I have found that the most important thing in any learning is to deeply understand why things are the way the way they are.
A common error students make is to memorize formulas, facts, and problem types that the teacher describes. This approach can function, but it requires a ridiculous amount of time and makes it difficult to understand more advanced concepts in the same field.
Instead I will do my best to impress upon students what the material means. This way, students gain the ability to solve problems unfamiliar to them through reasoning, and it becomes exponentially easier to build upon previously learned concepts by understanding the interaction between ideas.
My Clientele:

About Connor
I am a senior at La Jolla High School, in San Diego, CA. As a senior, I am currently applying to college, intending to study physics or engineering. I recently moved from Ventura, CA to San Diego, changing high schools in the process. I was also a cross country runner for three years at Ventura High School. I am very musically inclined; I have played the piano for five years and am currently in AP Music Theory.
I have always had a passion for learning, and a talent for teaching others. I hope to use my experience and gift to help others improve their grades and test scores, as well as improve their chances of getting into a college and continuing their education.
I have taken a total of nine AP classes (four of those are this year). Of the five exams I have taken, I have received:
1) A 5 in European History in 2020
2) A 5 in United States History in 2021
3) A 4 in English Language and Composition in 2021
4) A 5 in Chemistry in 2021
5) A 4 in Computer Science Principles in 2021
I also took the SAT on December 4, 2021 and received a score of 1530 (750 Math and 780 English).
