About Michelle
I have a Master's of Arts degree in Instruction and I'm licensed to teach 5th - 12th grade Social Studies. The majority of my teaching experience has been in ESL and Language Arts, which I've taught for over the past 9 years. The majority of the students I've worked with have the goal of improving their English to pass an exam, gain confidence, get a better job, or to communicate better with others.
My past teaching experience also includes teaching Social Studies at an alternative high school and tutoring and teaching students at an English language institute in South Korea.
My love for tutoring and teaching comes from contributing to students' growth in whichever areas they're wanting to improve and watching my students' confidence increase throughout our time together. I believe being patient, passionate, and using relatable, real-life examples are so important in helping with the learning process and these are some of my greatest strengths.
Since most of my experience has been teaching ESL students, I specialize in reading (fluency, comprehension, vocabulary), pronunciation, writing, and grammar. I am also qualified and experienced in teaching Social Studies subjects.
