About Vanessa

I am writing to express my strong interest in this tutoring position. My name is Vanessa Chahin and I am a highly motivated School Psychologist who just finished internship and graduated with my Education Specialist degree this May 2023. As a recent graduate from University of Iowa’s School Psychology program, I am excited to contribute my skills to students. I recently received my Education Specialist degree, which provided me with comprehensive training in assessing, diagnosing, and addressing the diverse needs of students. My decision to pursue this tutoring position is driven not only by my passion for education but also by personal circumstances. I just relocated to the New Orleans area due to my boyfriend receiving a promotional position in New Orleans. I can tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in Math, English, Science, and Spanish.

About the lesson

I have lesson plans developed for elementary, middle, and high school students on a variety of concepts for Math, English, Science, and Spanish. I take these lessons and adapt them to fit the needs of each student based on their individual needs. I recently received my Education Specialist degree, which provided me with comprehensive training in assessing, diagnosing, and addressing the diverse needs of students. This means that I have experience modifying curriculum to accelerate progress based on need. I enjoy teaching explicitly and with patience, giving students multiple opportunities to respond and practice.
