History graduate offering history and social studies lessons in Albuquerque with a year's experience in tutoring and a year of historical interpretation for the National Park Service.

Methodology

I approach topics by focusing on ways that students can answer complex historical questions. When working as a peer tutor I focused on helping them connecting what they knew from class with readings and assignments they are given. As a tutor I encourage students to show their knowledge of whatever subject we are covering and then help them progress to a point where they are able to answer the questions being asked of them.

Background

I have a degree in history and have helped students with individual assignments, coaching for presentations and test prep while I was in college. I have helped students gain a greater understanding of the relationships that history creates in order to help them make lasting connections.
