For fours, Ruth was my lecturer during my Undergrad. In the world of Information Management, she is one of the best lecturers I have ever had. Her teaching style is very engaging, and her lessons are always enjoyable.
Furthermore, she is a great teacher, who really cares about the students by providing the perfect balance of strictness and patience as she is always willing to help her students in areas, they are not good at. Ruth's lectures were my favorite part of class because she made her lessons fun.
As a research supervisor, she is very dedicated to her work. Her dedication to giving adequate guidance consistently helped me grow as a scholar and I know she will be an indispensable asset to any team or individual. Her commitment to her students is unparalleled, as she is one of the very best research supervisors.Dr. Ruth is a passionate, hard-working and diligent educator/scholar. She was my lecture in English for Information Studies where she taught various things including summaries and report writing. Therefore i recommend her for any academic tutoring lessons.
Ruth is a strong mentor with incredible experience.
She has a personalised approach to mentoring, and is a highly supportive coach.I worked with Ruth for over five years and the University of Namibia and her track records demonstrates that she is an exceptional teacher.
Ruth is an incredibly supportive mentor, open to sharing her wealth of experience. Her approach is comprehensive and thorough.
when I was doing my master degree, I almost gave up. This was at the time of writing my dissertation. Dr. Ruth, even though she was in a far country, went through my dissertation . She was thorough in reviewing every bit of it; and actually read through each chapter which some supervisors do not do. She is also quick in giving you feedback on all aspects, be it style, content, the flow and novelty. I am glad that I connected with her. I passed highly.
I strongly believe that Dr. Ruth Abankwah is a trustworthy teacher because she was my main supervisor for my master's program in Media Studies, while I was a student at the University of Namibia. Throughout my program, Dr. Ruth provided me with guidance in research, offered me academic support and ensured that I followed the appropriate ethical procedures for my study. Dr. Ruth is an honest, hardworking, and dedicated teacher. She is highly knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate about teaching. I have no doubt that her integrity will stand out everywhere she gets the opportunity to serve as a teacher. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a teacher. Thank you!
Dr Abankwah was my co-supervisor for my PhD. She provided both academic and emotional support, which made my academic experiences less stressful. Her knowledge of research methodologies and academic writing made the journey easier, particularly how to apply theory to your own project. Notable was that she was available when needed, either in person or virtually, and you could never feel alone at any time.
Ruth has been my lecturer and supervisor for so many year. I first got the opportunity to be her student when i was doing my diploma in 2012 at the University of Namibia. I furthered my studies to a bachelors degree where she was my supervisor for my final year research project. Furthermore, she has also been my supervisor for my Masters degree that was completed this year (2022). This was a tough road for me and her but not once did she ever give up on me as her student.
Personally, Ruth has not only been my lecturer but also our mentor, she has shared so many life lessons that have changed how we as emerging young professionals think or carry ourselves. She would always use scenarios that relate to real life situations. One factor that stood out about her is that she is very patient. She would make time for every student with different needs, I being one of them. I remember i was struggling with a module she was teaching us, she personally called me to her office and basically uplifted my spirit with ways on how to do better.
She had a famous saying "You are walking while others running" basically to empasize that you need to pull yourself together and finish up. She would always push you as a student to do better.
Another factor is her will of sharing information. Dr will always share information whether it's a book she was reading for her own information, she would share it just so we as her students can also learn a thing or two. During her time with us, she has also been very nurturing on top of being our lecturer.
Dr has helped me gain confidence in my studies, helped me overcome my fear of presentation and how to own my work. She would always say "when you go out in the industry, be relevant, exercise what you have learned. We have learned so much from her and anyone who would have an opportunity to be supervised by her would be truly blessed.
I am wishing Dr all the best in all her life endeavors.
She is very committed and passionate about what she does. She is also very knowledgeable and is able to teach in a way that ensures that her students understand and are able to apply what they’ve learned. She values what she does and has her student’s best interest at heart.
Dr Ruth is an epitome of a great tutor. One who understands and knows how to attend to needs of different students. A good communicator, compassionate and patient tutor. She was a also my research supervisor, a task she did with great commitment and passion.
