About Samuel
Hi! I'm a Korean (bilingual) incoming Mechanical Engineering student at Imperial College London, current senior at Bronx High School of Science, with a strong foundation in math and physics, shaped by both academic excellence and hands-on research at NYU Tandon’s robotics lab. Through years of study, teaching, and international experience, I’ve learned that mastery isn’t about memorizing solutions; it’s about learning how to think. I aim to bring clarity, structure, and real-world insight to every lesson, helping students not just improve grades, but genuinely grow interest and confidence in tackling new challenges. I take teaching seriously and tailor every session to what you need, whether it's acing the APs, boosting SAT scores, or simply understanding the “why” behind every concept.

I focus on building deep conceptual understanding first, then applying it across a variety of problems. In math and physics, I emphasize how to think through problems rather than just memorizing steps. My lessons involve guiding students through the problem-solving process, offering alternative methods, analogies, and real-life examples to reinforce long-term understanding. For SAT Math, I highlight recurring patterns and strategic shortcuts.
Each session begins by reviewing personalized solutions I’ve prepared for the previous lesson’s problems, often showing multiple ways to solve them. This helps reveal deeper insight and where students can improve. We then either reinforce the current topic or progress to new concepts with curated example problems.
What sets me apart is how I combine technical mastery with intuitive problem-solving techniques, pattern recognition, and application-driven teaching.
I tutor high school students aiming for STEM, from general math/physics to AP-level (AP Calc BC, AP Physics 1, C: Mech, C: E&M). I scored 800 on SAT Math and earned 98+ in all related coursework.
