About Rena

I am a passionate teacher and like to have interactive tutoring sessions. Feel free to reach out to me to see if our tutoring would be a good fit for you.

I am currently a research fellow at Johns Hopkins and a 4th year medical student. With my extensive experience with the pre-med courses and the medical school application process, mastery of anatomy and physiology, and deep knowledge in the material covered in the first, second, and third years of medical school, I am excited to help students in many different areas of science. I have experience teaching students from various age groups and with various needs.

My qualifications:
M.D. Candidate at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Class of 2023);
M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Graduated in 2019);
M.S. in Physiology at Georgetown University (Graduated in 2017);
B.S. in Biological Sciences at University of Connecticut (Graduated in 2012).

About the lesson

My 5+ years of tutoring experience consists of helping students in various science courses, graduate school applications, reading, writing, and math. I also know how to write well-articulated personal statements for medical school applications, so I would be happy to help you edit your medical school essays and/or AAMCAS / AACOMAS applications.

I have also helped students learn English. As a result of speaking foreign languages, such as Russian, I know how difficult improving your language skills can be, so I am here to help with this. I have successfully helped students who are ESL learners as well as those who would like to learn Russian.

Based on my experience, I love to help others in graduate school applications, anatomy, physiology, research, biology, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, ESL, reading, writing, math, tennis and Russian.
