About Florent
Hi, I’m Florent Tarrieux, a French multidisciplinary artist and educator based in California. I hold a National Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from France and a Cinema Degree from Los Angeles City College. My work spans traditional and digital media, including drawing, sculpture, illustration, animation, and post-production. I've worked as an art director, screenwriter, and motion designer on projects ranging from short films and theater productions to music videos and cultural installations. I’ve also led creative workshops for children and truly enjoy helping students of all ages explore their own artistic voice. Whether you're looking to build technical skills or simply reconnect with your creativity, I bring patience, experience, and a genuine passion for teaching into every class. Art is not just about technique—it’s about seeing, feeling, and expressing. I look forward to helping you grow as an artist, one idea at a time.

Explore Art Through Creativity, Observation, and Expression
I offer personalized art classes that combine technical skills with creative exploration. My lessons cover drawing, sculpture, illustration, and digital arts (using Adobe Creative Suite), and are open to all levels—from beginners discovering the basics to more advanced students seeking to deepen their artistic voice.
My Teaching Method
I believe everyone can learn to create. My approach balances foundational techniques—line, form, shading, composition, perspective—with personal expression and storytelling. I encourage experimentation and help students build confidence while developing their own artistic language, whether working traditionally or digitally.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical class includes:
A warm-up sketch or creative prompt
A short demo or technical focus (e.g., gesture drawing, digital painting techniques, or sculpting with wire and paper)
A guided project based on the student’s interests (portrait, landscape, character design, still life, abstract work, etc.)
A short feedback and discussion session to reflect on progress and set new goals
Lessons can include both hands-on and digital techniques using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
What Sets Me Apart
I hold a National Master's Degree in Fine Arts from France and a Cinema Degree from Los Angeles City College. I’m a multidisciplinary artist with professional experience in visual arts, screenwriting, animation, and post-production. My teaching reflects this wide range of influences—blending traditional techniques with digital tools, and fine arts with narrative structure and emotional depth.
I’ve also led art workshops for children in Montessori-style settings, and adapt easily to different learning styles, levels, and creative goals.
Who the Lessons Are For
These classes are open to children, teens, and adults—whether you want to learn how to draw, explore digital illustration, develop a portfolio, or simply reconnect with your creativity. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an emerging artist, I’ll tailor each lesson to your needs.
Let’s unlock your artistic potential together—at your rhythm, and through your vision.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I reached out to Florent regarding Ableton Live, and he was extremely knowledgeable and felt very current with the program and its utility. Each lesson was very easy to grasp as he was pretty much very attentive in what i'm actually retaining, and that each lesson was not too dense. As someone who is not so tech-friendly, he made it very easy to learn a computer program from scratch. Not only that, he is super patient and hilarious along the way.
