About Olive
With a Master’s degree in Music and five years of violin teaching experience, I bring both academic training and real-world musicianship into every session. I’ve worked with students from various age groups, helping them grow steadily through personalized, well-paced instruction. I create an encouraging and structured environment where students are supported as they develop technical ability and musical sensitivity. My approach is adaptable, allowing for flexibility in style, pace, and focus based on individual goals—whether classical performance, ensemble work, or personal enjoyment. Beyond teaching, my background includes orchestral performances, chamber music, and solo recitals. These experiences allow me to guide students not just in technique but also in artistry, confidence, and stage presence. My mission is to make the violin both accessible and inspiring.

Lessons begin with the fundamentals of violin posture, bow grip, and finger positioning. Early stages are focused on building tone quality, note accuracy, and rhythm stability. Beginner exercises and simple pieces are chosen to make learning feel musical while introducing essential technique step by step.
As students grow more comfortable, lessons expand to include shifting positions, vibrato, and more detailed phrasing. You’ll start working on short solo pieces and duet exercises that strengthen listening skills and ensemble awareness. Emphasis is placed on expressive playing and confident interpretation of music.
Advanced sessions are tailored to performance preparation, repertoire expansion, and technical mastery. Topics include double stops, complex rhythms, and dynamic control. Whether preparing for an exam, recital, or personal goal, each student receives targeted support through structured practice plans and detailed feedback.
