About Maeve
I am a violin tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a violin emphasis. My background spans solo, chamber, and orchestral performance, giving me a well-rounded perspective on musicianship. I focus on helping students build stage presence and confidence for performances of all kinds. I guide students through audition preparation, ensuring they are ready for competitions, conservatories, and school ensembles. My teaching emphasizes interpretation of advanced repertoire, combining technical precision with expressive musicality. I have worked extensively with high school performers, conservatory students, and competition entrants, tailoring lessons to each individual’s goals. Beyond technique, I focus on developing musical sensitivity, phrasing, and tone quality. Students learn how to express emotion and personality through their playing. I provide constructive, encouraging feedback to help each student reach their potential. Lessons are designed to be engaging, inspiring, and challenging. My goal is to help students advance their skills and achieve excellence. I am passionate about nurturing talent and fostering a lifelong love for music. Together, we work to take your violin playing to the next level.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop a deep understanding and love for the violin. I emphasize bowing control, intonation, tone development, musical expression, and proper posture. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s skill level, from beginners to advanced players. I use exercises that improve finger strength, dexterity, and precision.
I guide students to read music fluently and interpret pieces with feeling and emotion. I also help with sight-reading, rhythm training, and ear development. Students learn to express themselves musically while maintaining technical accuracy. I support those who want to perform in ensembles or choirs, helping them blend and harmonize with others confidently.
My method encourages regular practice, self-discipline, and goal setting. I provide feedback in a positive, constructive way. Lessons are interactive, fun, and engaging. I focus on helping students excel and enjoy their musical journey.
