About Ivy

I am a Python tutor with more than 3 years of experience teaching students from various academic and professional backgrounds. My approach is centered on turning code into something that feels approachable and even fun. I break complex programming topics into clear, step-by-step lessons that make sense. I specialize in teaching core Python skills: data types, loops, functions, and file handling. For students interested in more, I introduce tools like NumPy and Pandas for data projects. We’ll do plenty of hands-on work together, often with real-world datasets or creative mini-projects. My sessions are designed to build confidence and independence. You'll learn how to debug your code, write clean programs, and apply Python to your interests. With the right tools and guidance, Python doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it can become your superpower.

About the lesson

Learning Python doesn’t have to be hard when taught with patience and structure. My approach focuses on building strong fundamentals first. We start with the core building blocks: syntax, variables, loops, and conditional logic.

Each concept is explained with simple examples and real-life use cases. I break down complex topics like functions, recursion, and classes into small, manageable parts. My teaching always includes hands-on practice and clear explanations.

Students receive consistent feedback, which helps them correct mistakes early and improve fast. I support them as they build confidence and develop problem-solving skills. We regularly work on short coding tasks and small projects.

Over time, we explore advanced topics like APIs, modules, and data visualization with libraries. I help learners apply Python to scientific problems, especially in environmental and marine biology contexts.

Lessons are paced according to the student’s level and goals. We review regularly and reinforce previous knowledge. Students know I’m here to help them grow—and I truly enjoy seeing them succeed.
