About Dhruvi

As a passionate and dedicated tutor, I bring a fresh and relatable perspective to high school Maths and Physics education. Currently pursuing my Engineering at the University of Western Australia, I achieved a 98 ATAR in Physics and a 96 ATAR in Maths—proof of my strong grasp on the subjects I now teach.

With over a year of direct teaching experience, along with time spent assisting in classroms, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for helping students not only understand concepts but genuinely enjoy the learning process. My teaching journey has been driven by my love for these subjects and a strong desire to see students succeed and grow confident in their abilities.

I understand the challenges students face and have a knack for breaking down complex ideas into simpler, more manageable parts. My approach is warm, supportive, and tailored to each student’s learning style. Whether your child is struggling to keep up or looking to excel further, I’m here to provide the guidance and motivation they need to thrive.

Lessons are available online via Zoom, in-person at my place, or at a nearby location—whatever works best for your schedule. My flexible approach ensures learning fits seamlessly into your routine.

I tutor a wide range of subjects, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Science, and English, from primary through to high school levels.

Alongside curriculum support, I help students prepare for competitive exams such as GATE, OLNA, NAPLAN, ICAS, and other assessments—providing focused practice, proven strategies, and confidence-boosting guidance to help them excel.

Whether your child is preparing for exams, strengthening their foundations, or striving to top their class, I customise every lesson to suit their unique needs and goals.

My sessions are highly interactive and thoughtfully designed, combining creative teaching tools with clear, practical strategies. I use relatable analogies and real-world examples to make learning not only understandable—but genuinely enjoyable.

For high school students, I create personalised weekly plans that align with their syllabus and systematically target weak areas. I believe in steady, consistent progress, and I keep parents updated regularly on how their child is tracking.

Above all, I aim to be more than just a tutor—I strive to be a mentor who builds academic confidence and sparks genuine curiosity. If you’re searching for a tutor who connects with students and delivers real results—you’ve just found the right fit.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed a love for maths and science during high school — i enjoyed how they challenged me to think logically and creatively at the same time. tutoring started naturally; i began helping classmates and younger students, and realised how rewarding it is to help someone else have that “ah i get it now” moment.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I tutor maths, physics, chemistry, science, and english. i really enjoy topics that connect to the real world — for example, how physics explains things we see every day, or how maths builds problem-solving skills beyond the classroom. i find rote memorisation topics a little less enjoyable, but i try to make them engaging by showing students how to connect ideas.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes — one of my physics teachers in high school inspired me by making complex concepts feel simple and fun. their patience and clarity taught me that the way you explain something matters just as much as the content itself.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I think a good tutor needs to be patient, adaptable, and a good listener. it’s important to understand how each student learns and adjust your approach accordingly. clear communication and genuine care for a student’s progress are key.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During high school, i used to explain tricky physics concepts to friends before exams. i remember once drawing diagrams on the back of a napkin in the school café, and seeing a friend’s face light up when it finally clicked. moments like that made me realise how much i enjoyed teaching.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

Early on, i found it challenging to balance speed and accuracy in maths under timed conditions. over time, i developed strategies to stay calm, focus, and manage my time better — something i now help students work on as well.
  • Do you have a particular passion? is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I’m passionate about helping students build confidence. seeing someone go from “i can’t do this” to “i get it now” is what keeps me motivated. beyond tutoring, i enjoy exploring how engineering can solve real-world problems.
  • What makes you a superprof (besides answering these interview questions)?

I genuinely care about my students’ progress. i aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. i see tutoring as more than just teaching content — it’s about building skills and confidence that last.
