About Howell
I started fresh out of college as a Management Trainee in a national bank and that began in collections. I have some war stories you may like to hear about repossessing vehicles. With a promotion to Loan Officer I was able to make loans but I had to collect them as well which gave me the incentive to make good loans, and I had one of the lowest charge off rates in the bank. I had promotions to management but when the banking collapse occurred I went into mortgage lending where I originated many kinds of loans but my favorite was FmHA which is now USDA. Since many procedures have changed since I retired, I’ll stick to the basics in my class, which haven’t changed.

Loan Officer 101 - I'm retired now but I have over 20 years in the business world, primarily in the lending industry, including consumer loans for such as cars, trucks, furniture, appliances, RV's and etc. Also, I originated home loans for purchase or refinance including FHA, VA, USDA and conventional mortgages. Some of the processes have changed since I retired but the basics are the same which is what I'll include in my courses and what will be useful whether you just want to get a loan or want to originate loans.
