Learn to speak Dutch with the help of a native speaker

Dutch Lessons in Miami, Florida

Although the most spoken language in Miami is Spanish, you’d be surprised how useful Dutch can come to be.

Not only is it really similar to English as it’s a West Germanic language, but it’s actually a really fun dialect to study.

And it’s also spoken by about 30 million people around the world, so imagine all the new faces you’ll be able to connect with and meet. If you’re someone that loves traveling then it will come to be an incredible experience to study Dutch. Who knows maybe one day you’ll want to leave your city of Miami and travel to the Netherlands. A beautiful destination that is known for its windmills, cheese markets, wooden shoes, canals, and beer.

Not convinced yet?

Well just know that you don’t have to go into this entirely alone, at Superprof we offer a great selection of online and Miami-based Dutch instructors that can guide you. Our goal is to help you continue your education at an affordable cost, and who knows maybe one day you’ll like to teach others the Dutch language. Learn Dutch in Three Months

If you’re already excited to learn the language and can’t wait to become fluent then we are happy to say that it’s totally possible to do it in a matter of months. However, you have to make sure that you stay dedicated to your studies and constantly find new ways to stay motivated. Although 3 months is doable, you also have to be aware that there is a lot you have to do to learn everything in such a short amount of time. We suggest coming up with a lesson plan to help you stay on track or make a list of different ways to learn. If you have the budget we highly suggest getting a private tutor, but Superprof can help you with that. We have a wide variety of Miami-based and online instructors that are ready to help you reach your goals. They are here to cater to your needs, whether you want to have a structured lesson plan or try new studying methods. Having a tutor or someone to guide you is a smart investment because you’ll also have a partner to converse with. One of the best ways to perfect a language is by practicing it with other Dutch speakers, so a tutor is convenient. But don't be discouraged if you have a rough start, just remember that you have 3 months and soon speaking Dutch will be second nature.

Dutch & The English Language

There’s a reason why the Dutch language comes easily to English speakers and that’s because the two languages are very similar. It’s actually hard to say whether English or German is closer in similarities because they are both influenced by Dutch words. There are about 1,500 Dutch words in the English language, so it’s safe to say that the two are pretty similar. What makes all three languages different is mainly the pronunciation of words, since Dutch speakers are known for having a fun accent. For example, in Dutch there are no V or Z sounds at the end of a word, and instead, they will say F or S. This might also be because Dutch has vocalic and consonant sounds that are not commonly used in other languages.

Becoming A Fluent Dutch Speaker

Perfecting the Dutch language is a whole other ball game because no one ever truly knows everything. The thing with language is that it’s ever-changing and there’s always something new to learn. So becoming fluent might definitely take you more than three months, but within a year you can go from being a beginner to an advanced speaker. However, being fluent means so much more than just being able to keep a conversation going. It means that you have also learned Dutch slang, sayings, jokes, and everything that comes with the culture. Part of studying the language is also learning about the origins and everything the Dutch lifestyle encompasses.  This is why we emphasize that you make the time to have conversations with other Dutch speakers on a daily basis.

You’ll be surprised how much you can learn by talking to a Dutch native, and it’s a fun way to “study” the language.
