About Mike
Hi, I’m Mike – a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical quantum physics at the University of Manchester, with a PhD from the University of Bristol.
I tutor A-Level maths, further maths and physics, combining deep subject knowledge with clear explanations. My goal is to help you truly understand the material, not just memorise it – while also sharpening your exam technique to make sure you get every mark you can.

Our lessons can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on what you need. I recommend spending as much time as possible solving problems during our sessions since this is where you'll learn the most. It's helpful to make mistakes in our lessons so that you don't make those same mistakes in your exams. To achieve good grades, I used mark schemes from exam boards, as these documents clearly show what is needed to get each mark. I can help you learn simple strategies to maximise your marks and ensure you understand the content you'll be tested on.

Perfect! Mike took my daughter from a predicted A-level C/D grade in Maths and Physics to a B in both subjects. His approach of using past papers and questions really helped cement what she was learning in class and also prepare and increase her confidence in exams (both mocks and actuals). His ability to explain concepts in multiple ways (because of his knowledge in the subjects) meant that she could understand each topic. Highly recommended.

Mike is an excellent tutor.
