About Sarah
I have a Master's degree in Biology Education from the University of North Carolina and 7 years of experience teaching life science to K-12 students in one-to-one settings. I'm passionate about helping students discover the wonder of biology and understand how amazing living things really are. I specialize in making complex scientific concepts easy to understand by using everyday examples that students can relate to. My teaching methods are based on research that shows students learn science best when they can explore, ask questions, and get immediate answers. I use visual learning tools, hands-on activities, and real-world connections to make biology memorable and exciting. After each lesson, I provide clear summary notes and suggest fun science activities students can do at home to continue learning. Many of my students tell me that I've helped them fall in love with science for the first time.

I teach biology by making it come alive and showing you how fascinating the natural world really is. Instead of just memorizing facts, we explore how living things work and why they do what they do. I use lots of pictures, videos, and virtual experiments to help you see biology in action. Everything is explained in simple language first, then we learn the scientific terms once you understand the concepts. We cover all the important biology topics from elementary through high school, including cells and how they work, human body systems, genetics and DNA, animals and plants, ecosystems, and environmental science. I make sure to connect every topic to things you see in your own life so biology feels relevant and interesting. I also encourage you to ask lots of questions about how things work, because curiosity is the best way to learn science. We do virtual labs and experiments that help you think like a real scientist.
