About Lori
I had been a teacher for 15 years. During my teaching career I have had the pleasure to teach Early Childhood classes, both Preschool and Head Start. I have also taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I have taught both gifted students as well as special needs students. I have also taught ESL/ELL classes for adults at the local community college. I have tutored students from Preschool through adult learners.

My lessons start with a poem, book, or story that demonstrates the skill or the topic we will be learning about. Next, I model the skill we are learning about. I give lots of examples. I use videos, fun games, and help my students understand how to correctly use the skill. Then it's time for the students to practice the skills on their own or with me going step by step. Then I find a game so the student can demonstrate mastery of that skill. I end my lessons with listening to fiction or non-fiction books or a portion of all kinds of literature.
