About Luis
I discovered chess at the age of 12 and wished I had started earlier. During my teenage years, I participated in multiple international tournaments, representing my country as its champion. I traveled and competed throughout many cities in Mexico in my youth. After that, I founded a chess club at my high school and taught anyone interested in learning. My love for chess is so deep that I was able to share it with that club. Witnessing each small progress made by my friends reminded me of the feelings I experienced during tournaments, especially when I came home with a medal hanging around my neck. I revived the magic of chess within myself. This passion led me to teach. I have shared my love for chess with hundreds of individuals, ranging from a four-year-old girl to a seventy-two-year-old woman. This is one of the beautiful aspects of chess: it is a sport that can be enjoyed at any age. I firmly believe that chess is a powerful tool for humanity as it helps us utilize reasoning. I am convinced that if more people played chess, we would gradually create a better society—one that is fairer and where we all think before we act.

Ill say that Luis, is a trustworthy teacher with tons of experience because he’s like the Yoda of chess, guiding students from cluelessness to checkmate. Also, I think of him as the Gandalf of the chessboard. So, if you’re looking to level up your chess game, Luis might just be your wizard who will guide you through middle earth.
I know Professor Fonseca since 2018 and he was already teaching young kids how to play chess while also been involved in Chess tournaments, which he has won several. He helped me started my journey into chess which I enjoy a lot, there is always something new to learn in the game and Professor Fonseca certainly will help you.
Dear chess students,
I first tried chess when I was 10 and since then I've loved it, but for me it was a hobby. Until college when I joined the competitive team.
I cannot tell how big of a difference is to have a guide like Luis (fonsi as we call him). He is a really funny person but his chess skills are not a joke.
I kindly recommend this superprof to have a great time and improve your chess as never before.
