About Arlo

I am a French tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Master of Arts in French Linguistics with a focus on international studies. My background blends language teaching with a deep understanding of global cultures, making my lessons both educational and eye-opening. I believe learning French goes beyond grammar—it’s a way to connect with people, history, and ideas from around the world. In my classes, I integrate current events, cultural discussions, and media from across the Francophone world. From African cinema to Canadian news, students gain exposure to real-world French in diverse contexts. I encourage intercultural dialogues, helping learners understand not just how to speak, but how to think and interact across cultures. About the lesson

My teaching approach to French is focused, flexible, and learner-centered. I start by understanding each student's goals—whether it's passing exams, improving academic writing, or speaking French fluently in real-life situations. Lessons are structured but interactive, with a strong balance of reading, listening, writing, and speaking practice.

I place special emphasis on conversational fluency. We use dialogues, role-plays, and real-world scenarios to make speaking feel natural and fun. Accent reduction is another key part of my lessons, helping students speak clearly and confidently. I also offer deep grammar coaching, making complex rules easy to understand and apply.

Cultural immersion is woven into every session. We explore French customs, media, and traditions to give learners a full sense of the language and its people. For academic learners or exam-focused students, I provide detailed strategies, structured practice, and clear feedback to help them succeed.
