About Zari
I am a dedicated and passionate tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching Chess to students of all ages and skill levels. Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of working with nearly 200 students, each with unique goals, challenges, and dreams for their game. My teaching is rooted in **personalised learning**—I believe every student has their own style of thinking and pace of progress, so I tailor lessons to match their needs, whether they are absolute beginners or competitive players seeking an edge. I focus on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity, strategic thinking, and confidence on the board. My sessions combine classic game studies, tactical drills, and interactive play, making learning both engaging and effective. Beyond Chess, I integrate lessons on focus, patience, and problem-solving that students carry into other areas of life. With a track record of helping students improve not just their ranking, but their love for the game, I bring unique skills in mentoring, time management, and motivation—guiding each learner towards their highest potential.

My teaching methodology for Chess is rooted in **creativity, integrity, and strong time management**, helping students develop not only strategies for the board but also skills that serve them in life. I believe Chess should be more than memorising moves—it should be about thinking ahead, exploring possibilities, and learning to adapt. In lessons, I guide students through classic games, puzzles, and real-life scenarios to encourage creative problem-solving while reinforcing a sense of fairness and respect for the game. Time management plays a vital role, so I teach pacing techniques for both casual play and timed matches, ensuring students stay calm and focused under pressure. Alongside Chess, I also teach related strategy games like **Backgammon, Risk, Checkers, and Settlers of Catan**, broadening their critical thinking and tactical awareness. Every session is designed to balance instruction with practical play, building confidence through step-by-step challenges. My goal is for students not just to improve, but to develop a deeper appreciation for strategy, patience, and the joy of mastering the game.
