About Grayson
My piano teaching approach blends traditional skills with the power of modern technology to make learning dynamic, clear, and creative. I use a range of digital tools—like virtual pianos, notation apps, and DAW software—to help students visualize music, track progress, and compose their own pieces. Backing tracks and slow-down tools make it easier to practice rhythm, pitch accuracy, and expressive playing at a comfortable pace. For students who learn best through audio-visual methods or structured tasks, these tools create a supportive and motivating environment. We explore topics like layering harmonies, beat matching, and basic music production to build both musical understanding and creativity. I also introduce interactive apps that turn music theory and ear training into fun, game-like experiences. Whether we’re composing a melody, experimenting with loops, or improving timing, lessons are hands-on and tailored to each student’s style. I support learners who thrive on clear visuals, tech-based learning, and emotional expression. We focus not only on technical growth but also on making music that feels personal and meaningful.

I’m a friendly and flexible piano tutor with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in piano. I offer creative, student-centered lessons designed to meet each learner’s unique needs, goals, and pace. My background includes working with neurodiverse students, including those with ADHD and various learning differences. I believe everyone can thrive musically with the right support.
To help students stay engaged, I integrate movement, visual aids, games, and interactive apps into lessons. Whether we’re exploring rhythm through body percussion or learning theory through color-coded patterns, I make sure learning feels fun and meaningful. I adapt my approach based on how each student learns best—whether they're hands-on, visual, or need more breaks to refocus.
Music should be accessible and joyful, not stressful or rigid. I strive to create a positive, playful space where students of all ages feel heard, motivated, and excited to grow. My lessons are structured but flexible, always aiming to build musical confidence and expression. I love helping students connect emotionally with the music they play.
