About Evelyn
My teaching approach centers on the body as an instrument—violin playing begins with movement. I guide students to feel rhythm deep in their bones, not just through the bow. We explore tempo and phrasing through gestures, building a natural sense of pulse and musical breath. Every lesson includes exercises that connect posture with flow, allowing the violin to feel like an extension of the self. I incorporate whole-body awareness and kinesthetic rhythm training to strengthen coordination, focus, and expression. Through gesture-based dynamics, students learn how to shape sound with movement, giving their playing emotional depth and physical ease. This approach nurtures a deeper connection to the music and a stronger sense of presence. For students who thrive with movement-rich learning, I offer structure that channels their creativity without limiting it. I support those who seek emotional grounding and artistic momentum—whether they’re finding their voice as expressive performers or crafting music with clarity and passion. Together, we balance form and freedom. We build confidence, flexibility, and energy in performance. And most importantly, we let the music move us—literally and artistically.

I’m a dedicated violin tutor with 9 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Early Music, specializing in Baroque Violin. My journey has been deeply rooted in performance and pedagogy, especially working with advanced students. I guide aspiring musicians as they prepare for music college auditions and solo recitals, helping them refine their artistry and technical command.
My lessons dive into advanced bowing techniques, nuanced interpretive decisions, and the full scope of concert preparation. I believe that strong technique must be matched with expressive freedom. That’s why I emphasize musical phrasing, stylistic understanding, and personal voice in every piece.
Beyond the music itself, I coach students in stage presence, mental focus, and confidence under pressure. We work on developing a professional mindset—one that thrives both in practice rooms and under stage lights. I also help students craft thoughtful program notes and present themselves authentically in auditions.
Whether it’s perfecting a Bach partita or navigating a conservatory interview, I support each student’s growth with structure, care, and high standards. My goal is to mentor not just violinists, but complete performers.
