About Lizzett

Hello, my name is Lizzett Plascencia but to any students that need my assistance can call me Miss Plascencia. I am a current senior in high school looking to spread the knowledge and skills I have learned over the years to other students. I have taken many math honors and have finished AP calculus AB, currently taking BC. I am also a well rounded person that is in many clubs, such as a robotics team where I hold a leadership role. I also have my own calculus club where we tutor anyone that needs help in any kind of math. Another fun fact is that I used to tutor my 12 year old brother with math over the quarantine time giving him math work sheets and in all just working through anything he was struggling on. Thus, my goal is for students to have a full understanding on what they may be struggling on and to know that this is a safe place where there are no dumb questions.

About the lesson

I would help all levels that need specific help in Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre Calculus, and Calculus.

- Engage students in interactive activities, such as solving puzzles with algebraic expressions.
- Use visual aids, such as drawings or simple equations, to introduce the idea of variables in algebra.
- Start with a brief overview of what math is and its importance.
-Simplify the idea of calculus by introducing rates of change and basic derivatives.
- Use real-world examples, like motion or growth, to demonstrate calculus concepts.
-Introduce trigonometric functions using simple right triangles.
- Discuss the basics of sine, cosine, and tangent.
- Use hands-on activities, such as measuring angles and sides of triangles, to make trigonometry more tangible.
- Incorporate online games or educational apps that reinforce concepts learned.
- Use interactive whiteboard activities for hands-on learning.
- Distribute printed worksheets with age-appropriate problems for each topic covered.
- Encourage students to work individually to solve problems.
- Conduct a brief review to assess each student's understanding.
- Ask students to explain concepts they learned in their own words.
