My academic background has equipped me with a comprehensive knowledge of standardized testing, writing skills, historical research, specific topics and teaching techniques. My research interests, particularly in world history and American history, have expanded my horizons and prepared me to engage students in challenging topics with every learning style. I am certified in CMP (Commemorative Museum Pedagogy), which trains educators to handle difficult history topics with tact, recognize the various reactions that students will have and respond to these reactions in specific ways according to which reaction the student has. My experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I have taught courses on The Art of Historical Detection: Ancient Mediterranean, Survey of Virginia History, and Environmental History, has been invaluable in developing my teaching skills and understanding of student needs, particularly neurodivergent students who need specialized help. I consistently earned high praise from students and faculty for my commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive environment. I am available to tutor all levels in history, philosophy, religions and political science topics. Outside the classroom, I am an avid reader and a fiction writer currently publishing a book. I am excited to work with you and make your academic dreams a reality!
