About Elizabeth
I am interested in applying for the academic instructor, grader or tutor position in your organization. I’m a very caring and compassionate individual who has worked with many families as a teacher. My most recent position was as a homeschool math teacher in a homeschool cooperative in Puerto Rico. I remained there until we were forced to evacuate due to Hurricane Maria. I am a service-oriented, fast thinker with high self-motivation.
I previously taught four years of 7th grade math at a middle school in New York City, for NYC Department of Education. I left my position there to be a stay-at-home mother, but I am eager to get back into the workforce. I received a double major in mathematics and psychology from Lehman College in the Bronx and went on to pursue my Master’s Degree in education from City College of New York through the NYC Teaching Fellows Program. I have my 5-year substitute math credential in Ohio for grades 4-9.
I am qualified to tutor by Varsity Tutors LLC Algebra I, Algebra II, and all levels of math below 10th grade.
I believe this position would be ideal for my experiences and training. With four years of teaching experience in New York City, and experience homeschooling thirteen students in a homeschool cooperative, I believe I can handle anything handed to me. I aim to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient.

my teaching method is student directed instruction, I was a seventh-grade math teacher and know that content is based on math problems using a text and students notes from your class let me know what you are having trouble with and the text you are using and I will plan a lesson based on the material.
