I structure my lessons based on practice tests focused on a specific level of math or on several levels of math depending on the student's proficiency. I also offer more specialized tutoring towards SAT/ACT math prep. These practice tests will be used to measure the student's growth as well as to improve his or her math comprehension.
A standard lesson will consist of reviewing homework questions that will be assigned at the end of each lesson. Corresponding to the questions that the student struggled with, I will teach subject areas that the student needs help with. In addition, the student will perform timed questions during lessons after review to not only provide on-the-spot help and specialized lessons, but also to improve the student's efficiency in solving math problems in a timely manner, which is important for both school tests and standardized testing such as the AzMERIT and SAT/ACT.
