About Benjamin
Benjamin Brooks is a passionate math educator who has worked as a private tutor for over a decade.
Mr. Brooks started teaching high school in fall of 2018 at Hoover High School in Hoover, Alabama as a mathematics instructor and has continued as an instructor in Hoover City Schools for four years. For the past three years, Mr. Brooks has been an adjunct professor for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Mr. Brooks graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and completed a teaching certification in Mathematics that same year. In 2021, he completed a Master of Arts in Education degree in Secondary Mathematics from UAB.
Mr. Brooks continues to grow professionally as a math educator and aims to curate a community platform for students learning at home as well as students in traditional classroom settings.

As a tutor, I use a student-centered approach with real-world examples, visual aids, and technology to make math concepts engaging and understandable. A typical lesson includes reviewing previous material, introducing new concepts, guided practice, and ending with independent practice and assessment. My unique ability to create a supportive, interactive learning environment sets me apart, encouraging active participation and continuous feedback. My lessons are tailored for middle school to college-level students, providing extra support in mathematics to help them achieve their academic goals.
