About Imani
My name is Imani , I am 25 years old and I have been a tutor in New York and Jersey City for the past 10 years. A little bit of my history: I have tutored in SAT Prep, Calculus courses, Advanced Placement classes and general education subjects. Currently I work full time as an HR Manager for a consulting firm in the Financial District of NYC.
I speak English and have a moderate understanding of Spanish. I have a Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Psychology from Penn State University and I have my Master's degree in Sociology from Rutgers University. I am a non-smoker, a clean driving record, and am CPR Certified. I am also a dog owner so I would definitely not mind being around pets. My teaching method is centralized on individualized testing and review with each of my students. I first assess a students knowledge on a subject and determine an accurate hands on approach to use going forward. Whether that requires worksheets, weekly testing, flashcards, physical props or media content to engage the student. I personalize all of my tutoring strategies so that each student is learning in a way that they are comfortable with.
