My teaching approach depends entirely on the student and what works best for them. Something very common in my teaching style however is to show the student how to do a problem, have the student complete a couple of the problems with me, and then have the student solve a problem on their own so that I can check the students progress with the material. I have also made up practice tests and quizzes in the past and am totally willing to do whatever a student needs in order to grasp as many math concepts as they need.
I am a mathematics major with plans on going to graduate school and becoming a math professor. I have tutored students individually and in groups both in person and online for the past 4 years. I am willing and excited to work with any age range, as I have in the past, and love to see my students succeed. My proudest moments are when my students come back to me after a tough exam and excitedly tell me that they did well on it due to our sessions. I have done 4 years worth of undergraduate math classes and have an abundant amount of resources if needed.
I am willing to travel a great distance to meet my students anywhere they please, however, due to the fact that I do offer sessions online, I may ask for some compensation on gas if it is more than a 30 minute drive for me. Lastly, as long as sessions are cancelled at least 2 hours before the session is scheduled, no pay is needed.
