About Will
Elementary Math: Lessons in elementary math emphasize the fundamentals of arithmetic, counting, numbering, fractions, decimals, basic percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Discrete Mathematics: Discrete Mathematics concerns logic, logic circuits, relations, functions, induction, graphs, and trees. Logic covers propositions, truth tables, implications (the biconditional connective, tautologies), arguments, and logic circuits. Relations are defined, individuated, typed, and applied - as are functions. Induction has its own principles, types, and systems. Graphs and trees are defined, individuated, etc. Lessons go over all of these topics, have problem-sets, and go over answers to problems. I have been tutoring discrete mathematics for ten years.
Geometry: Geometry is the fourth math course in high school and will guide you through among other things points, lines, planes, angles, parallel lines, triangles, similarity, trigonometry, quadrilaterals, transformations, circles and area. I have lessons prepared in geometry. I can help students at all levels of geometry too.
Analytical Geometry: The student needs to specify exactly what kind of help is needed in analytical geometry before we decide to meet or have a lesson.
High School Algebra 1: Algebra 1 is the second math course in high school and will guide you through among other things expressions, systems of equations, functions, real numbers, inequalities, exponents, polynomials, radical and rational expressions. I offer lessons in algebra 1.
High School Algebra 2: Algebra 2 is the third math course in high school and will guide you through among other things linear equations, inequalities, graphs, matrices, polynomials and radical expressions, quadratic equations, functions, exponential and logarithmic expressions, sequences and series, probability and trigonometry. I offer lessons in algebra 2.
Differential Equations: I have tutored clients in differential equations for several years already. Usually we work through problem sets, the client usually writes out which ones are most troublesome. Differential equations, as a course or subject, usually involves ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. It's important that we understand these basic terms before going forward. I make sure that clients define the problems that they have by classifying the equations into what they are - whether first order, second order, whether homogenous, whether a solution, etc.
Linear Algebra: As a linear algebra tutor I emphasize the importance of writing out questions and making sure to obtain answers. From my experience preparation, with a view to earning a good grade, must arm one with a certain skill set proper to mastery of the topics covered under either linear algebra or differential equations. I never take for granted the role of demonstrating the abstract concepts, definitions, rules, and theorems proper to these advanced math subjects.
Logic: I have tutored clients in logic for several years. It is important for me to specify the kinds of logic that I tutor - Boolean, Modal, Existential, Quantifier, and Symbolic. These kinds of logic are found in workbooks and textbooks. Clients usually have me work from a book and usually have problems that they can't solve on their own. We work through the problems accordingly.
Mathematica:Lessons in Mathematica are practically driven. Mathematica can be used as a numerical and symbolic calculator, a visualization system, a programming language, a modeling and data analysis, a system for representing knowledge, a software platform, a way to create interactive documents, etc. Lessons work from Stephen Wolfram's Mathematica textbook. They either cover the different chapters as lectures or they answer student's requisitions regarding Mathematica. Students must advise for the sake of lesson structuring and planning. I have tutored clients in mathematica for five years now.

As a calculus tutor I always stress the importance of writing out questions and making sure to obtain answers from those familiar with whichever exam (e.g., AP Calculus AB) one is preparing for. In tutoring calculus I make sure clients have a good grasp on the fundamentals. I took college precalculus back in 2004 and received an A. From there I went on to take Calculus BC and achieved a perfect score. As a precalculus and calculus tutor I always stress the importance of writing out questions and making sure to obtain answers from those familiar with whichever exam (e.g., AP Calculus AB, precalculus midterm/final) one is preparing for. From my experience preparation, with a view to earning a good grade, must arm one with a certain skill set proper to mastery of the topics covered under precalculus' or calculus' domain. Unlike other mathematical skills (e.g., those needed for algebra) that one can learn on one's own in private, precalculus is too abstract to be grasped by one’s self without the instruction from one who has already learned it, practices it, and can motivate the relevant topics in a highly articulate and intelligible form. As a tutor experienced with precalculus, I assume the role of demonstrating the abstract concepts, definitions, rules and theorems proper to these advanced math subjects. I have found that aforementioned mathematical concepts become concrete enough only after the pupil has worked through many problem sets with the instructor. In tutoring pupils, I bring these abstractions down to earth in a way that makes sense to the pupil's circumstances (e.g., educational resources, how much has already been learned, which areas need improvement), actual natural mathematical aptitude, and actual goals in view of one's curriculum – all of which the pupil can mistake if (s)he does not understand those circumstances, abilities, and goals. I have tutored clients in differential equations for several years already.
