About Tiana
I am a very motivating teacher. I have been teaching math for 3 years to over 250+ students in a public school. I have had varying results based on the needs of my students. Some students needed assistance in fluency and others needed help preparing for an exam for high school. Approximately 80 percent of my students have met their goal with me. I have 3 students who are now attending the top tier high schools in MA, 35+ students who are attending a college prep high school, 20+ students who are attending a private high school, and the numerous students who have jumped at minimum one level in state testing (ie. warning to needs improvement, needs improvement to proficient, etc.)

My teaching methodology is based on open communication with myself and my students. I never talk more than 7 minutes at a time, and a lot of it is call and response. I believe that the only way students can learn is if they take charge of what they learn; I am only there as a guide. I typically use PowerPoints and worksheets. I also teach with the model YOU do, WE do, I do, where I allow students to pull from their brains what they already know, then we take what they already have presented and navigate through it to further their understanding, and then with all the knowledge that the student has already presented and navigated through, I show them the correct way to do it. This allows for students to be confident in their knowledge about math and be excited to learn more.
