About Krishna

I have been practicing Mindfulness Meditation since the past 7 years. I am a certified psychological counselor and am pursuing clinical studies. My practice and teachings are completely secular and do not require any religious beliefs at all. I do not consider myself to be religious either.
Apart from this I have a scientific background in physics and Psychology, and have worked in rigorous start-up ecosystems and NGOs.

Mindfulness is a mental practice involving focused awareness on the present moment, without judgment or distraction. It encourages observing thoughts, emotions, and sensations as they arise, promoting a non-reactive and compassionate attitude.

I teach every student/client as per their own unique requirements. Every student/client is somewhat different and the general approach is to build stability and calmness of the mind. Anyone can learn to meditate and it is universally beneficial. All can benefit from counselling too.

Once a certain degree of familiarity is obtained with the practice, I teach compassion and work on further developing methods to deal with negative emotions. Our real enemies are inside us and the ones outside are a mere reflection, hence it is important to learn to deal with our own negative emotions.

Mindfulness works by increasing present moment awareness and equanimity towards the present moment. It helps us live a peaceful and a life full of freedom.

I emphasize on dealing with anger, ill-will, overthinking, anxiety, depression and irritation. I also put emphasis on increasing altruistic qualities.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of living in the present moment, with harmony, love, and peace. The practice helps us develop a wise relationships in our lives and also helps us build better relationships with other people. I discovered Mindfulness through reading scientific journals and came across its usefulness of it in daily life. I decided to give it a try and the rest is history.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    When I started practicing it myself, I discovered immense benefits of it. This made me very happy and peaceful. I had never experienced such peace in my life. When a person comes across something beautiful, one naturally feels like sharing it with others. I also naturally felt like sharing it with others, perhaps out of love. Therefore, I decided to start teaching.
  • How does your work help society?

    This is the main objective. To help anyone and everyone in the society. Society is made of individuals and if the individual is peaceful, the society is peaceful. Mindfulness helps create a loving, caring, compassionate and peaceful society. Every person who practices mindfulness not only makes themselves peaceful but also spreads this peace and love among all the people they interact with.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    I can think of many role models. It would be unfair to name just one or two. There are so many people today and so many people who have lived in the past, who work towards creating a better society, a peaceful society. These people understood the value of true peace and true happiness. Temporary pleasure is not true happiness.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    I study and practice psychology, do sports like running and cycling, and sometimes a little music. I also like to go for treks and hikes, as being close to nature is always a pleasure.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    I once had a student who got so impressed by the practice, that they recommended me to their entire family and I ended up teaching them all. Today everyone in their family practices mindfulness. They are very happy to do so.
