About Elina
I’m a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhil in Physics, passionate about the intersection of science and art. My teaching takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, especially in areas where physics meets art and restoration. I guide students in exploring how light interacts with pigments, how materials age, and how physics helps preserve cultural heritage. Through the lens of conservation science, we examine the physical properties of canvases, ceramics, and ancient artifacts. I introduce non-destructive testing techniques like infrared reflectography, X-ray fluorescence, and spectroscopy. These methods allow us to analyze artwork without damaging it, unlocking secrets hidden beneath the surface. I frequently use real art historical examples to connect physics to artistic expression. Students learn how environmental factors affect preservation, and how material science can inform restoration strategies. I’ve worked with art history students, conservationists, and curious minds who want to understand the science behind masterpieces. My lessons are engaging, accessible, and tailored to different learning goals. I help students build strong foundations while appreciating the deeper stories materials can tell. It’s incredibly rewarding to apply physics in a way that helps preserve human creativity. Together, we’ll uncover how science can protect and celebrate great works of art.

My teaching approach in Physics is nurturing, personalized, and built around exploration. I focus on helping students deeply understand concepts through both theory and computation. Along with core Physics topics, I guide students in areas like computer modeling, data visualization, numerical methods, and basic scientific programming. These skills are essential for solving real-world physics problems.
I encourage students to use tools like Python or MATLAB to simulate physical systems and visualize outcomes. This hands-on approach makes abstract ideas more concrete and exciting. We work on building strong problem-solving skills, both analytical and computational. I also introduce topics related to nuclear physics, particle interactions, and energy systems, supporting students who are curious about advanced fields.
As a former research assistant and nuclear enthusiast, I bring real academic experience into our sessions. I support students in developing their computational thinking while building confidence with simulations. Every lesson is tailored to their pace and interests. We celebrate small wins and develop skills that last. Together, we’ll explore how physics and code work hand in hand—and help you excel with confidence.
