About Dr Sara De Felice
I'm a neuroscience researcher at University of Cambridge. I have extensive experience in tutoring students of all levels. I hold a BSc in Psychology from Aston University (Birmingham), a dual master in Neuroscience from UCL and UPMC (Paris), and a PhD in cognitive neuroscience from UCL.
I would love to make an impact in someone else's academic life and support you in your learning, via a professional, reliable and structured approach, with clear goals and lots of flexibility to work around individual needs and aspirations. My tailored approach acknowledges that everyone faces individual challenges and life phases. I also offer support for university applications (Bachelor, Master and PhD).
My research focuses on the importance of social interaction in human learning. Science is showing that learning is longer-lasting when there is a co-creation between student and teacher.
I'm very much interested in how interacting with others (e.g. your teacher) can help you learn things faster and for longer (compared to if you would stare at your laptop reading the same information). So my approach is very interactive and tailored to individual needs: active listening is key and allows for flexibility along the way based on student's progress and feedback.
I have an active record of publications in high-impact-factor journals and am a successful grants holder.

My approach is to offer help that can be long-lasting and transferrable to future challenges: rather than giving you the answer, I focus on how to get those answers so that students can be indipendent and use what learned later on. I teach you the skills that you need so you can apply those in your future work.
I offer help in the following areas:
academic writing (dissertation, lab reports, essays, academic articles for peer-review journal, systematic litterature review)
research methods in neuroscience/psychology (quantitative)
statistical analysis for dissertations (from plan to running stats in SPSS/Matlab to interpret results)
effective reading and critical analysing of academic papers
academic poster
PowerPoint presentation
application to university programmes (cover letters, CV, interviews etc)
grants writing
I propose 1 hour one-to-one session, but I am flexible to discuss options in case a small group of 2/3 students want to join sessions together. I am based between London and Cambridge, in case you prefer to meet in person within this area, we can discuss it.

Perfect! Sara was very helpful. I would highly recommend her! :)
Perfect! Sara is just fantastic , she is patient in explaining over and over difficult concepts and make them easy to comprehend. She is experienced and qualified, she she is confident in what she is talking about. These are just few of the reasons why in my opinion she is an excellent tutor. Besides that I am so thankful to her because she helped a lot in developing useful study skills and techniques that have boosted my academical performances.
Once again, thanks a lot Sara, you are literally a super prof- Dr Sara De Felice's response :
Perfect! Sara is a trustworthy, reliable, highly knowledgeable tutor who is extremely professional, dedicated and compassionate. I met Sara two weeks prior to my dissertation deadline; she has supported me extensively, and she commands an elevated expertise in SPSS and data analysis which was extremely helpful. My only regret is knowing her too late, as I am confident and firmly believe if I had solicited her guidance before contacting other tutors who were a letdown, my whole journey would have been different. I sincerely vouch for Sara's professionalism, impeccable work ethic, extremely knowledgeable and kindness. I would highly recommend her.

Sara is a brilliant teacher! She is serious and well organised as well as kind and friendly. She loves her job and she will make you confident through her lessons.
Sara and I first met a few years ago, and she quickly became a very close friend. I think she would make a great Superprof because she is kind, thoughtful, smart, creative, proactive, with a positive attitude, and most importantly she is always willing to help. Can’t recommend her highly enough!!
I have been known Sara for a few years. We met at university where we both work as neuroscience researchers. She personally helped me in the past writing a scientific article and her insights have been really useful in organizing my thoughts and structuring them correctly in the paper. She is really passionate in what she does, which is really evident when you interact with her. She is also really capable in understanding others and that makes her able to adapt her way of teaching to your needs.
I know Sara from the Dual Master in Brain and Mind Sciences at the University College London and Sorbonne University. I recommend her very much as a tutor, because of two aspects: first, she has an extensive knowledge and vast experience in the realm of psychology and neuroscience. The ground for this is her scientific curiosity ( = she is pretty much always active doing new exciting projects or courses). Second aspect is her personality. Her empathy, openness, and honesty makes it a true joy to interact with her. She helped me to obtain my MSc, just like she will help you as a tutor!
As a former lawyer myself who had the chance to see Sara studying and working, I can only say that she is one the smartest and pedagogical person I ever known. Her academic curriculum is exemplary and his seriousness is no longer to be proven
Sara and I were academic colleagues at a British university and we have known each other for several years. I can confidently say that Sara is one of the most gifted scholars I have ever known. She is extremely insightful and she has the ability of quickly identifying the most crucial aspects of a problem. This ability is what makes her both an unexceptional critical researcher and an outstanding teacher. I have no hesitations to say that you will feel lucky to have her as your tutor.

My price includes supporting material and a structured plan that the student can follow during independent work. I see the sessions as milestones of a longer learning process where I give support along the way while promoting independency and long-term individual learning.
