About Holly
Hi! Ready to start acing your exams? Then you’ve come to the right place - I’m a recent Music graduate from King's College London and a very driven teacher with a lot of knowledge to share about all things study, revision and exam technique. In previous positions as a peer mentor, I raised one student’s mock assessment grades from a 4 to a 9 in just a few weeks for Business GCSE, a subject I never even took! During my GCSEs, I worked very hard and got all 9-7 in 11 subjects; in A Levels, however, I struggled, and despite an Oxbridge offer, saw Cs and Ds in my mock results. Persevering, I applied the techniques I already knew (and should’ve been using!) from my GCSEs and raised all my grades to an A in a matter of weeks with an A* on my EPQ. A similar story began to occur in my degree and, for the first two years, I felt unconfident and confused, destined for a 2:2. I didn't have anyone to learn about academic writing from and was falling behind my peers. But, in third year, it all finally clicked, and I began to see my modules average at 80 and achieved a 91 in my dissertation! Had someone taught me a few tips and tricks on how to research, write and revise for university, I would've been so much less stressed - just as every student deserves to be. Now, I want to share such skills and knowledge with you to ensure everyone is equipped to do their best!

Supportive and reassuring online tutoring to provide greater confidence to students alongside their lessons. Emphasising effective revision methods and clarifying the confusing world of essay writing and exam technique. Lessons are typically 1-hour long but can be adapted to suit the pupils' needs. Such lessons will suit A Level Music students, as well as university students for essay-based subjects in the Arts & Humanities. Additionally, I offer tutoring to GCSE students successful revision methods across a range of subjects. I have lots of experience in both informal and formal teaching positions, working at a Kids' Camp in the summer, as a peer mentor and as a piano teacher, and am equipped with up-to-date safeguarding and tutor training, and a valid DBS certificate.
