About Karen
I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and have spent 5 years tutoring. I also conducted research on catalysis, and I integrate those real-world applications into lessons. I offer evening and weekend availability, and I’m certified as an ACS Certified Laboratory Scientist. Outside tutoring, I volunteer at local science fairs and lead chemistry demonstration shows for middle school students.

I teach chemistry by merging research examples with fundamental instruction—covering atomic theory, kinetics, and basic organic and chemical principles. We use molecular visualization software to explore 3D structures and perform virtual lab simulations. Practice problem sets mirror AP, SAT II, and undergraduate course exams.
