About Sadie

I have been providing private music instruction for the past three years, working with students of various ages and skill levels to help them develop their technique, confidence, and love of music. My own musical journey began at the age of five, when I first became involved in music through elementary community education classes, church choir, handbells, piano, and orchestra. I discovered the viola at age 10 and quickly developed a deep passion for the instrument. Throughout middle and high school, I performed in honors-level orchestras, auditioned chamber ensembles, solo and ensemble competitions, and actively sought out every opportunity to grow as a musician. Since 2015, I have been a member of the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra, based in Alexandria, MN. I attended Concordia College, where I studied music education, and I will be continuing my music studies online this fall. Teaching and performing continue to inspire me, and I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with the next generation of musicians.

I take a personalized approach to teaching, adapting to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals. My aim is to help every student build a strong technical foundation while also nurturing their unique musicality and individual aspirations. My top priority is to create an accessible and welcoming opportunity for anyone to learn, regardless of their experience level.

Each lesson begins with a warm-up and a review of the material covered in the previous session. We then work on assigned pieces that incorporate both technical challenges and musical interpretation. Depending on the student’s needs, we may also focus on sight-reading, scales and arpeggios, or music theory concepts to support their overall growth. At the end of each lesson, we discuss what to practice before the next session and set specific goals to work toward.

In addition to developing technique and repertoire, I also provide tutoring in reading music and understanding music theory. I help students build confidence in reading notes, rhythms, and key signatures, and guide them through the fundamentals of theory to deepen their understanding of how music works — enhancing both their playing and their overall musicianship.

I offer lessons for students of all ages and skill levels — whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time, seeking additional guidance outside of a school music program, or looking to strengthen your music reading and theory skills. I am dedicated to meeting students where they are and supporting them on their unique musical journey, helping them progress confidently toward their goals.
