About Katharina
Hi! My name is Katharina Wolf. I am 18 years old and will soon be completing my first semester in education.
I was born in Ethiopia but grew up in NYC, but I have German citizenship. Yes, I know, that's a lot :). But I think it will help me a lot because I'm surrounded by a lot of different people. I've also been traveling to many countries (more than 20), and that means I've met even more people.
I love to talk, so you can expect that I'll explain a lot, several times, because that wouldn't bother me at all.
Experiences:
I was a tutor in my high school and I was a Counselor at an English summer camp two years ago.
I was also a child caretaker for several years in high school.

I'm concentrating on children from the 5th grade upwards.
Daily routine:
I will first ask what the children think their biggest difficulties are. I won't ask for grades because I don't believe a grade can tell everything about a child.
Then I ask them if I can see their work in the areas where they're struggling.[ N]
From there I'm going to do a few exercises where they are faced with questions where they seem to have had difficulties in their work. I'll ask them to explain to me why they think their answer is correct (regardless of whether it is).
After that we'll work through their work, do more practices, until they can do it by heart.
What is important to me:
That the children have confidence in their work and that their self-confidence is not dependent on their grades. This can be very dangerous.
Learning languages isn't easy, and that's why it's important to keep learning, no matter how bad you're feeling at the moment.
