About Aron
Born and raised in Texas, I always had a personal desire to draw things. Beyond the typical practice of most children, this desire stuck with me and pushed me to want to be a comic book artist. From an early age, I can remember attempting to copy my favorite artists by redrawing their work in as close of detail as possible. This passion followed me as I began working freelance for a number of independent creators' comic book series. I pursued a degree in art at the University of Oklahoma where I studied drawing and painting primarily. From here my creative worldview expanded as I fell in love with the Baroque era of art and began experimenting with a range of media from charcoal to oil paint. Today, I work as a public school art teacher and get to help hundreds of children each year discover new and exciting areas of art! I love seeing students progress as they take on challenging projects and the intrinsic rewards they receive from their work. It is this joy that keeps me wanting to teach anyone with the creative urge and curiosity.

I work on an individual basis, meaning I first assess where a student is at in their growth and adapt my lessons from there. I can work with students ranging from the middle school to collegiate level in media ranging from graphite, charcoal, to pen and ink. I work in a traditional, fine art structured discipline. This means I emphasize having a strong grasp of fundamentals. The elements of art and principles of design are the basis for my instruction. From there I place a strong focus on anatomy, seeing values, and dramatic contrast. An example of a typical lesson plan could be practicing still life drawing wherein we use the setup of objects to learn how to see proportions and scale and how they function in an overall composition. From there we would focus on how to see and add values accurately. A lesson such as this would cover vital elements in drawing such as composition, lighting, and hierarchy of values. I find giving students the individualized attention they need brings out the best in them. No students have the same hand, so their instruction should not be treated as so. Here I believe the greatest amount of artistic growth is found!
