About Raluca
I am a published author (Les poètes de l'éphiphanie des choses : Hopkins, Pessoa, Williams, Ponge, Blaga ; Paris, Honoré Champion, 2023) and ex-student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. I hold an MA from Sorbonne IV and a PhD in comparative literature. I have been teaching university-level classes in France and Italy since 2017. I've been involved in spoken word performances and communities in Strasbourg, Paris, and Bari.

My classes focus on understanding poetic texts both from an academic and creative process perspective. If you ever wanted to know everything there is to know about Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Nerval, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Antonia Pozzi, H.D., Shelley, Sappho or Nichita Stănescu (or just about any poet, especially if they've written in English, French, Italian, Romanian or Portuguese), I can help. I also provide lessons on the different prosodic structures, how to speak and read poetry, and how to write it, engaging you in creative exercises and developing your editing skills. Particular attention is given to achieving the states of mind necessary to understand the art of poetry - a meditative simplicity, an attuning to the body and to external sensations, empathy towards otherness, the contemplation of harmony, grief and consolation.
