Profile

A driven and ambitious researcher with a passion for teaching understanding the mechanisms underpinning motor control and learning. Skilled and experienced in collecting and analysing large EMG, biomechanical and performance data sets, having successfully published several academic journal articles. Currently entering the final stages of the PhD process, having combined EMG, biomechanics and performance variables to uncover and quantify the "combined effects of motor imagery and observation on motor performance". Hoping future endeavours will aid the continued development of research quality, impact and novelty.

February 2016 – February 2019

Thesis title – Examining the Effect of Imagery and Action Observation Interventions on Motor Performance.

My research utilises the simultaneous collection of EMG and Biomechanical and performance data in an attempt to understand why combined imagery and observation interventions appear to be a superior performance enhancement. By the end of my studies, I hope to highlight several measures that can be used to quantify the learning and relearning of motor skills in both healthy and clinical populations, and how each of these techniques can contribute to optimum performance and rehabilitation via training.
