About Lyra
I have over 4 years of experience teaching Physics and hold a BA in Physics. My passion lies in helping students explore the fascinating world of condensed matter physics and materials science. I guide learners through complex topics such as crystal structures, band theory, superconductivity, and semiconductors, showing how they connect to real-world technologies. In my lessons, we examine how the arrangement of atoms determines the properties of materials. I explain how band theory helps us understand conductivity and how semiconductors power modern electronics. Superconductivity is another favorite topic, where I show its potential for revolutionizing energy and transport systems. I believe in making abstract concepts concrete through relatable examples and applications. Whether it’s exploring the role of materials in smartphones or the science behind advanced medical imaging, I connect physics to everyday life. My approach blends clear explanations with problem-solving exercises that strengthen understanding. I also encourage curiosity, allowing students to explore beyond the textbook and see how research drives innovation. Together, we can unlock the secrets of materials and the technological wonders they make possible.

My teaching approach for Physics is focused, practical, and designed to get real results. I teach school and university students, as well as those preparing for AP Physics exams. We will cover key areas like mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, thermodynamics, modern physics, and even topics from astrophysics and nuclear physics. For AP Physics preparation, I focus on concept review, problem-solving techniques, and exam strategy.
Lessons include targeted drills to strengthen weak areas and practice tests to simulate the real exam. I break down complex concepts into simple steps, making them easier to understand. As a strong mathematician, I connect physics principles with the math behind them for deeper clarity. I also add engaging examples, sometimes inspired by science fiction, to make learning memorable and fun.
Every student gets a plan tailored to their learning style and goals. We work on time management and accuracy so you can handle exam pressure with ease. I provide clear feedback after every session, so you know exactly where you stand. The aim is not only high scores, but also confidence on exam day. With the right practice and mindset, you’ll excel in Physics and beyond.
