About Ruby
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhys degree. My work focuses on biophysics and the physics of living systems. I guide students through areas such as molecular motors, membrane transport, nerve impulses, and biomechanics. These topics show how physical laws operate within the complexity of biology. I enjoy working with biology students, pre-med students, and those from physics backgrounds eager to apply their knowledge to life sciences. Many learners find confidence in bridging biology and physics with my support. My approach combines clear explanations, interactive discussions, and practical examples. I tailor lessons to the goals of each student, whether preparing for exams, assignments, or research. Mistakes are used as stepping stones to deeper understanding. Through biophysics, I aim to spark curiosity and excitement about how life works. There is a unique joy in applying physics to reveal the intricacies of biological systems, and I share that joy with every student.

My teaching method focuses on curiosity-led exploration. I believe physics is best learned when students investigate real questions and design their own experiments. Along with core physics concepts, I guide learners through experimental design, data analysis, error propagation, and scientific reporting. These skills prepare them for both exams and real laboratory work.
I take a gentle and reflective approach, giving students space to think deeply and ask questions freely. For learners who see themselves as DIY scientists, I provide encouragement while building strong technical foundations. Mistakes are treated as stepping stones, and I use them to explain error analysis clearly.
Through examples, problem-solving, and reflective discussions, I help learners connect theory with practice. My role is to support them in excelling by building confidence and independence in their investigations. Together, we discover exciting new ways to experiment and learn like true scientists.
