About Mariela
Hi! I'm Mariela, a pianist and singer-songwriter with a lifelong love for music. I've been studying piano since I was 8 years old, and it has been my constant companion ever since. I trained in classical music and composition at the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), and later expanded my studies to include singing popular music at EMPA, as well as through private lessons with a variety of experienced teachers. Music is my passion, and sharing my knowledge brings me so much joy! I love creating a space where students feel safe, inspired, and free to express themselves musically. Whether you're just starting out, coming back to the instrument after years away, or looking to explore new styles, I'm here to guide you. In addition to performing and composing my own music, I specialize in teaching music to students of all ages and backgrounds. My approach is flexible, combining technique, theory, creativity, and fun. I believe music is a powerful tool for connection, confidence, and self-discovery—and I’m honored to be part of that journey with each student.

TEACHING METHOD
My teaching method blends classical technique with a modern, flexible approach. I focus on:
- Solid technical foundation
- Sight-reading and ear training
- Musicality and expression
- Repertoire building with pieces from both classical and popular music traditions
- Creativity, encouraging improvisation and songwriting if the student is interested
I use a variety of tools, from traditional method books to lead sheets and chord charts, depending on the student’s learning style.
LESSON PLAN
Each lesson is structured but adaptable. A standard 60-minute lesson might include:
- Warm-up and technical exercises
- Sight-reading practice
- Working on current pieces (both classical and popular)
(For younger students or beginners, lessons are shorter and more game-based to keep them engaged)

I’m both classically trained and experienced in popular music, which allows me to teach a wide range of styles.
I’m also a singer-songwriter, so I love working with students who want to explore songwriting or combine voice and piano.
I bring a warm, patient, and encouraging presence, making students feel comfortable and confident.
I customize lessons completely to the student’s pace and interests—no rigid curriculum unless desired.
