About Tracey

As a highly dedicated and experienced educator, I offer quality instruction that instills confidence and ensures musical growth. Lessons are structured and individually tailored to meet the specific needs of my students.

With a proven track record of professionalism, a genuine passion for music and education, a National Teaching Award for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching, and a wealth of experience as a professional musician in the music industry, I guarantee a supportive and credible learning experience.

I have been teaching for 16 years and many of my high school students over the years, have gone on to study Music at the prestigious music faculties at South Africa's top universities, namely, The University of Cape Town and The University of Stellenbosch, and have graduated to become professional music artists and musicians in the music industry (both classical and jazz), as well as become music educators at some of Cape Town's high-performing schools.

I have a wealth of experience working with, and in jazz bands and ensembles. I am the bassist for South Africa's first all-female Big Band, The Lady Day Big Band, and for upcoming artist, Whitney April. Further to this, I direct my own corporate bands as well, namely, QuinTessential and Soul'd Out.

I love being able to provide my students with opportunities to experience ensemble playing as well, as piano can be a very lonely instrument. I incorporate technology to enhance the lesson and elevate it to a multidimensional experience. In other words, my students also get the opportunity to experience duet, trio and small combo performing, which is a skillset of its own.

Details

Travel costs are included in the R450 hourly rate for students living within a 15km radius. A travel cost is applicable dependent on the distance of travel exceeding the 15km radius.
Online lessons are R400 per hour.
